1000 No. 1s Video Series Day 12:
Nelly Talks About Topping the Hot 100

2011 was the year that Billboard celebrated the 1000th No. 1 song on the Hot 100. As we look back on this year in music, we're celebrating that milestone with a month-long series of videos --- one for each day of December -- chatting with 31 of the hitmakers who rocketed to the top of the chart since its inception in 1958. SEE THE FULL CHART HERE.

On day 12 of our 1,000 Hot No. 1s video series, we move from yesterday's '80s power ballad John Waite's "Missing You" to Nelly's No. 1 -- 2002 " Dilemma," featuring Kelly Rowland. "That was really the first time K [Kelly] stepped outside of the group to do anything," Nelly tells Billboard.com. "She was still nervous a little bit too. It just came together and was beautiful thing. She had a chance to show the true talent that she is."

The St. Louis rapper, along side his "little sister" Kelly Rowland, took the Hot 100 by storm. The duet, which reached No. 1 on Aug. 17, 2002, stayed atop the Hot 100 for 10 weeks straight. On it's ninth week (Oct. 21), "Dilemma," went straight to No. 1 of the U.K. singles chart.

Be sure to come back tomorrow (Dec. 13) for the next 1000 No. 1s video: Tiffany talks about her No. 1s, "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Could've Been."
