The rock act will return Oct. 8 with "Fortress," its fourth album
Alter Bridge's new album has finished construction.
The rock act's "Fortress," the band's fourth, is due Oct. 8 on EMI Label Services, with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette at the helm once again.
“When we started pre-production on this album, we pushed ourselves harder and further than we ever have previously in order to make the most out of every individual arrangement," guitarist Mark Tremonti said in a statement. "We wanted this album to be our most unpredictable and exciting one yet."
Earlier this year, Tremonti told Billboard to expect an emphasis on the band's instrumental side.
"We'll try to be as heavy and progressive as we can without losing the vocal melodies and the reasons why most people listen to music," he explained. "I don't want to be just self-indulgent, but we want to have a lot of fun with it, too."
The album release will come alongside a U.S. tour date: an Oct. 4 show in Orlando, Fla. It'll be their only domestic performance before kicking off a run of European dates from Oct. 16 to Nov. 16 that will include a gig at London's Wembley Arena. The band's previous trip to the venue was captured in the concert film "Live at Wembley."
