The Pussycat Dolls, Fergie, Staind, Gym Class Heroes and Gavin DeGraw have been tapped as headliners for The Big Dance, a three-day concert series taking place during the NCAA Final Four basketball championship weekend next month in Detroit.
The Dolls, taking a break from their run on Britney Spears' Circus Tour, and DeGraw will be the main attractions at the Big Dance Saturday on April 4, while Staind, Gym Class Heroes, new Sean "Diddy" Combs protege Janelle Monae and fledgling rock band Parachute will take the stage during My Coke Fest on April 5, with "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest emceeing.
A headliner has yet to be named for the AT&T Block Party on April 3, but one insider indicated it will be a band that "will raise some eyebrows."
Another set of free concerts, sponsored by CBS and featuring O.A.R., Train and Joe Cocker, will be taking place at the Fillmore Detroit during the Final Four weekend. Details are expected soon.
Some 40 local bands from the Detroit area will also perform during the weekend.
The NCAA Final Four will be played on April 4 and 6 at Ford Field in downtown Detroit. Details are available at www.NCAA.com/finalfour.
