Basement Jaxx, Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk and Dizzee Rascal have been confirmed as the headline acts for the 2009 U.K. Creamfields Festival. The two-day event will be held at Daresbury, Cheshire on Aug. 29 to 30.
Other live acts confirmed to appear at the long-running dance event, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year, include 2 Many DJs, Mylo, Friendly Fires, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Laurent Garnier and the U.K. debut of Luciano Presents Æther. Pete Tong, who will also be appearing at the festival, made the line-up announcement on national Top 40 station BBC Radio 1.
DJs set to appear at Creamfields include Erick Morillo, John Digweed, Sasha, Ferry Corsten, Erol Alkan and Timo Mass. The Swedish House Mafia, made up of host DJs Axwell, Steve Angelo and Sebastian Ingrosso, will return for the second year to host their own arena. BBC Radio 1 will also be returning to the festival and broadcast live coverage throughout the event.
Headline act Tiësto said in a statement: "I'm very excited to be headlining the Creamfields Festival this year. Creamfields always has a wild crowd and I can't wait for them to hear some of the new music that I'm producing right now." Tiësto makes his main stage debut at the festival on Aug. 29, while Basement Jaxx are main stage headliners on Aug. 30.
As previously reported on Billboard.biz (March 30), Creamfields is selling a limited number of its 2009 festival tickets at a reduced rate in a move organizers claim reflects the current financial climate. Day tickets for the 2009 event have also been frozen at last year's prices with a day pass for Aug. 29 costing £57.50 ($81.61) plus booking fee. Day tickets for Aug. 30 cost £53.50 ($75.93) plus booking fee.
