Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band and the Beastie Boys will headline San Francisco's second Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, to be held Aug. 28-30 at Golden Gate Park. M.I.A., Modest Mouse, the Mars Volta, Black Eyed Peas, Ween, Thievery Corporation, Incubus and Jason Mraz are also in the lineup, it was announced today (April 13).
Tickets and passes go on sale April 19 at sfoutsidelands.com, with a pre-sale taking place April 15-18.
Other acts scheduled to perform include TV on the Radio, Tom Jones, Built To Spill, Calexico, The National, Q-Tip, Deerhunter, Heartless Bastards, Blind Pilot, Mastodon, Trombone Shorty and Dengue Fever. Last year's inaugural Outside Lands featured Radiohead, Tom Petty, Jack Johnson, Manu Chao and Ben Harper among many others.
Outside Lands is produced by Superfly, Another Planet Entertainment and Star Hill Presents, in partnerships with the San Francisco Recreation & Park Department.
Despite the economic climate, Superfly partner Jonathan Mayers says that he's "very optimistic" that the event will have a strong year.
"We're setting our expectations where we understand that it's a very challenging economy out there," Mayers told Billboard last week, "so we're not taking anything for granted."
