On "iSouljaBoyTellEm," an album riddled with rhymes about material wealth and body-moving beats, "Turn My Swag On" stands alone. It's not because the song's lyrical content (best summed up by the line, "Yeah, I'm gettin' money, ohhhh") deviates from the rest of the album. The appeal lies in the bizarre-yet-riveting sound of Soulja Boy Tell 'Em's (real name: DeAndre Way) vocals, which reflect an outpouring of ecstasy around the idea of living large. The teen rapper's extended twang during the chorus -- "Hop up out the beeed/ Turn my swag ooon" -- is even more irresistible than his usual staccato flow. A triumphant beat by producers Natural Disaster and Top Cat helps further the cause, but at the end of the day it's Soulja's unabashed vocal swag that makes this song a hit.
