"Current Music Presents: Embedded" is a six-part special series that gives fans intimate, behind-the-scenes access to their favorite artists. Billboard.com has an exclusive, extended sneak-peak at the first episode featuring rapper Mos Def right here.

"Every time I come to Japan and I go back to the states, it feels like the plane is a time machine taking me back in time to some dark-aged era where phones are THIS big and people are sill on horse-drawn carriages," Mos Def says in the clip as he compares the modernity of Tokyo to that of the United States. "We gotta keep up, America! I mean, seriously, we're getting outpaced out this bitch -- we're just getting lapped by Japan over and over. We don't even make good jeans anymore! This is ridiculous!"

In addition to sharing his views on why America is getting side-swiped by Tokyo, viewers can also see Mos performing for the locals and visiting his burger franchise, Mos Burger, among other exclusive scenes from his visit to Japan.

"Embedded" premieres tomorrow (Oct. 14th) at 11/10 C. Other artists to be featured in future episodes include Silverspun Pickups, Ben Harper, Common, Thievery Corporation, The Decemberists, Lykke Li and Amanda Palmer.
