Another track from Rihanna's upcoming "Rated R" album, a song titled "Wait Your Turn (The Wait Is Ova)," leaked on the internet this past weekend. Not nearly as dark as first single " Russian Roulette," the song -- which leans more towards a hip-hop feel than pop -- finds the singer tapping into her island drawl.
"I pitch with a grenade / swing away if you're feeling brave / there's so much power in my name... I'm such a fragile lady / you don't have to be afraid," Rihanna twangs in her Barbadian accent over a static thump and handclaps.
"It's getting crowded over here, but babe the wait is ova / sometimes it takes a thousand tries, but the wait is ova / fumble, don't fumble, that's a flag on the play... it's just the way the game is played / it's best that you just wait your turn," Rihanna continues on the chorus, metaphorically comparing what appears to be a love pursuit to the game of football.
Def Jam Records, Rihanna's label, was reached during press time but hadn't returned calls about whether "Wait Your Turn" is actually the album's second single.
In related news, Rihanna is scheduled to give her first public interview since the February altercation involving ex-boyfriend Chris Brown to ABC's "Good Morning America" and "20/20" this week.
According to a video promo that appeared online this past weekend, Rihanna will appear on both shows in support of "Rated R," which is slated for a Nov. 23 release. "Rihanna. Music superstar. Pop sensation. Now, for the very first time, Rihanna tells her side of the story," the promo voiceover states, adding that she will appear on "Good Morning America" on Thursday and a special "20/20" episode on Friday.
