British indie rockers The xx have just released a new music video for their latest single, "Fiction," off their sophomore album, "Coexist."
The gritty black and white music video for "Fiction" features lead singer Oliver Sim walking through a deserted resort in the middle of the night while the rest of the band is asleep. The Film Noir feel of the video only adds to the haunting melody of the track, fueled by Sim's deep vocals.
The xx has been met with praise from critics and indie pop lovers alike since breaking on to the scene in 2009 with their self titled debut album, which earned them the prestigious Mercury Prize.
Following the success of their debut, the London-based trio spent the majority of 2010 and 2011 playing a variety of big ticket music festivals in the U.S., including Coachella, Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits, and working on their sophomore album, "Coexist" debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 last September.
Recently, the band joined big name acts such as Jay-Z, Fergie, Lana Del Ray, and Florence and the Machine on the soundtrack to Baz Lurhmann's "The Great Gatsby."
The group will play the Governors Ball this weekend in NYC and will follow that up with a return trip to Bonnaroo on June 14.
