The National, Sigur Ros Top Inaugural Laneway Festival Detroit Lineup

The National performs at All Points West on July 31, 2009, rain be damned.

Solange, Icona Pop, Charli XCX also performing at new fest.

The Laneway Festival will come to North America for the first time this September, when the National and Sigur Ros top the first-ever Laneway Festival Detroit lineup. The indie music gathering will be held at Meadow Brook Music Festival in Rochester Hills, Mich. on Sept. 14.

The National and Sigur Ros both have new albums on the way -- the former will release "Trouble Will Find Me" on May 21, while the Icelandic post-rockers will issue "Kveikur" on June 18. They'll top a lineup that also includes artists like Solange, Icona Pop, Savages, the Dismemberment Plan and Deerhunter.

The Laneway Festival was founded in 2004 in Melbourne, Australia, and has since expanded to eight cities, including feasts in New Zealand and Singapore. The Detroit iteration will be produced by Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Paradigm Agency.

Advance tickets for Laneway Festival Detroit go on sale this Saturday (May 18), for $79.50.
