'I had a peaceful concert' before his tour bus was the scene of a shooting that left one person dead, Montana says.
French Montana says he "had a peaceful concert" before the outside of his tour bus became the site of a shooting that left one person dead on Thursday night.
"My bus was located in the vicinity of the incident that took place away from the venue, last night in Philadelphia," the MC said in a statement to Billboard. "I had a peaceful concert and was not involved. My deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to the families of the victims, as well as all of those who were affected."
As previously reported, the shooting occurred after the rapper's headlining performance at the Theatre of the Living Arts.
"A large crowd of fans, as well as some of the entourage, were loitering and just hanging out," Philadelphia police Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters, before a car pulled onto the scene and opened fire. One person was killed during the shooting, with a second injured.
The rapper and his entourage did not appear to be targeted, investigators said.
Montana's tour continues tonight in Boston.
