Hear the romantic 'Wittgenstein Flies a Kite.'
Indie musician Sufjan Stevens has been quietly active on his Tumblr blog recently, posting photos, cultural musings and the occasional demo. On Thursday, he shared "Wittgenstein Flies a Kite," an "unfinished ballad" he found "on an old hard drive. 'Give a Little Love.' Break me off a piece of that Kit-Kat bar."
After opening with the Auto-Tuned vocals he introduced to his repertoire on 2010's "The Age of Adz," the song ascends into a bustling, harmonized climax and eases into a jazzy aftermath. "Give a little love for a lonely man," he sings.
The ambitious singer-songwriter released "Silver & Gold," a box set of Christmas EPs, in Nov. 2012, the follow-up to his "Songs for Christmas" collection. Like its predecessor, the set collected the Christmas recordings Stevens completes each year, leaving the "The Age of Adz" as his last proper full-length. "Adz" bowed at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with sales of 36,000, his best chart week so far. Judging by his Tumblr, he's been spending his time biking in the wilderness.
