Prince Adds 'Surprise' Club Dates in Minneapolis

Six shows sold out.
Prince has booked six last-minute shows at a Minneapolis jazz club this week in which he'll audition for a new drummer, host a jam session and perform a "surprise" or two.
The "Purple Rain" icon will play two "sound check" shows Wednesday night, two jam session shows Thursday night and two shows Friday simply billed as "surprise" at the Dakota Jazz Club.
Tickets went on sale Tuesday morning and have sold out. The club warns that the kitchen will be closed for all shows and that "If you are caught with a phone, you will be removed from the venue by security - No exceptions."
The website DrFunkenberry.com was first to report the shows and said that the Minneapolis-born Prince picked the Dakota, instead of his own Paisley Park venue, because the band fun. had booked the space to rehearse for their upcoming tour.
