Latin superstar Gloria Estefan will host a gala Feb. 9 at her Miami Beach home to benefit the Gloria Estefan Foundation. Proceeds from the event will go to the Miami Children's Hospital Brain Institute, which serves children suffering from neurological disorders.

The VIP gala, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, will be attended by some 300 people and will feature a live concert performance by Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine.

The Gloria Estefan Foundation was created more than 10 years ago and benefits multiple humanitarian endeavors. Most recently, a $1 million donation was given to the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis to launch a Human Clinical Trials program. The foundation has always been funded through the business and personal ventures of Estefan and her husband, producer Emilio Estefan. This is the first time the foundation has reached out to the community to raise money.

Experimentalists Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) and Steve Reid will release their next collaboration, "Tongues," March 20 via Domino. The album, which follows two volumes of the pair's "Exchange" series, finds the artists once again focusing on improvisation but this time in the form or shorter songs.

Hebden and Reid will play March 8 in Austin, Texas, and March 10 at Florida's Langerado Festival before returning to the United Kingdom for a 10-date tour. The artists are also planning a trip to Senegal to record more material.
