THE BEARS V. THE COLTS V. THE NICKS
Thanks for always providing great information. I have a question about Stevie Nicks.
Her Web site, Nicksfix.com, reports that Stevie will be performing at the Superbowl pre-game show airing on CBS (Feb. 4). No other information is given. Do you know how many songs she will perform or if she will be performing solo or with someone else? Also is it true she will be touring soon with Chris Isaak, starting in Vegas?
We're unsure of what Nicks will be singing at the pre-game show, but we can only imagine that it will be great.
The pre-game performance is part of the promotion leading up to the release of a new album and a summer tour with Chris Isaak.
We rang up Nicks' fab publicist, Liz Rosenberg, and got the scoop. On March 27 Nicks will unveil "The Very Best of Stevie Nicks" while her trek with Isaak begins in May. She does have a handful of concerts lined up before then, including some solo dates at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The album, her second greatest hits package, will not only include familiar favorites, but also some special extras. They include live versions of "Edge of Seventeen," "Landslide" and "Rhiannon." The set also boasts Nicks' 2005 collaboration with dance act Deep Dish on "Dreams." The single is of course a cover of Fleetwood Mac's No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit. The Deep Dish version rose to No. 2 on the Hot Dance Radio Airplay chart last year.
The album will also come packaged with a DVD that includes live performances as a unique commentary from Nicks about her songs.
I have been a huge Nelly Furtado fan ever since her debut album. I am so happy that she is finding success with her latest single "Say It Right." I have noticed that ever since that single was released her "Loose" album has enjoyed top 20 status again.
I have a question about her next single. On her Web site it says that fans can vote for her next single. I know she has (already filmed) a video for "All Good Things" and that song has gone to No. 1 in Germany and other European countries.
Will she be releasing that single in the U.S.? I am hoping that she will pick either "Afraid" or "Do It" as her next single as these are both amazing songs. What are your thoughts? Also, how many albums has she sold of "Whoa, Nelly!," "Folklore" and "Loose?"
Per Nelly Furtado's publicist, the fourth U.S. single from "Loose" will be "All Good Things." Right now, Furtado and her label are still in the thick of promoting "Say It Right," so I don't have word on when "All Good Things" will hit radio airwaves. Last week, "Say It Right" climbed 4-3 on The Billboard Hot 100. It's her second top three hit following last year's No. 1 single "Promiscuous."
Thus far, "Loose" has sold 1.2 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. Her 2000 debut, "Whoa, Nelly!," has moved 2.5 million, while its 2003 follow-up, "Folklore," has shifted 416,000.
'AWAKENING' STILL SLEEPING
I was just wondering if you know when Stacie Orrico's new album "Beautiful Awakening" is finally going to be released in the U.S.?
So far its release date has been changed twice. First it was (supposed to come out) back in October or November and now the Jan. 16 release date has been cancelled -- and this time with no sign of a U.S. release.
I wish I could be more helpful. All I've been told is that the release of the album has been postponed and a new release date has yet to be confirmed.
Clearly, that statement is open to interpretation. You can either think that the album will never see the light of day, or, you can be optimistic and assume that the label needed more time to properly set up the album as to maximize its potential.
