"It's a very experimental piece of work and combines the style of rock with trance and electronic," says Dutch-born Tiesto. "This is the first time that I have combined these different genres. I have always liked rock music so it made sense."
The 12-track "Elements of Life" includes already familiar tunes, such as "Dance4Life," co-written with Maxi Jazz, one-half of electronic duo Faithless. The single was released in 2006 to promote AIDS/HIV awareness, with all the proceeds benefiting the Dance4Life organization. Other tracks included are "Ten Seconds Before Sunrise," "Carpe Noctum," and "Bright Morningstar."
The album also features guest vocalists such as previous Tiësto collaborator Brian Transeau on a love song titled "Break My Fall" and singer/songwriter Charlotte Martin on "Sweet Things." Others featured on the album are Julie Thompson on "Can You Feel Me," JES on "Everything," and U.K.-based Christian Burns, who can be heard on "In The Dark," the first single off the album.
In support of the album, Tiësto will embark upon a 12-month "Elements Of Life" world tour. Two featured stops will be March 23 at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami where Tiësto will co-headline with The Cure, and then close out the Main Stage on Saturday night, April 28 at Coachella 2007, following the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Tiesto’s released his artist debut, "In My Memory," in 2001.
