The Who had to scrap a show last night (March 13) in Tampa, Fla., after Roger Daltrey was overcome by bronchitis. Daltrey walked off the stage during the band's first song at the Ford Amphitheatre.

After a few minutes, guitarist Pete Townshend told the crowd about Daltrey's condition and promised the band would return for a March 25 make-up date. "I just talked to Roger and he can barely speak," Townshend said. "I tried to get him to come out here, but he's really, really sick."

Townshend will be in Austin, Texas, this week to give the keynote address at the South by Southwest music festival and to perform with his partner, Rachel Fuller.

As for the Who, the group is scheduled to resume performing Saturday (March 17) in Mexico City.
