Dresden Dolls vocalist Amanda Palmer is recording her debut solo album in Nashville with Ben Folds. No release date has been penciled in for the as-yet-untitled project.

"The songs range from intimate ballads to faster and harder Amanda-assaults-the-piano thrillers," Palmer says in a statement. "We've been adding everything from organs and Leslie cabinets to strings, horns and tympani. The final result should be Biblical."

Dresden Dolls will be back on the road in June for the True Colors tour, which also features Cyndi Lauper, Erasure and Debbie Harry, among others. A video will be shot next month for "Shores of California," the third single from the Dolls' 2006 album "Yes, Virginia."

Boston pop-rock crew the Click Five has recruited a new singer/guitarist, 20-year-old Kyle Patrick. The switch comes on the heels of the group's decision to "part ways" with former singer Eric Dill after several years together as a five-piece. "We know he will be missed by many and we wish him the best success in his other endeavors," says the band via MySpace.

The group will be releasing its sophomore set, "Modern Minds and Pastimes," June 26 via Lava/Atlantic and has already released a first single, "Jenny," to iTunes. A tour in support of the effort will begin in mid-May.

According to his Web site, Dill departed Boston for Los Angeles, where he will be starting a new career in music and acting. "I have never been more excited to pursue my interests! I have a lot of ideas, and that's where it starts," he says
