Bruce Hornsby will release his first full-length instrumental jazz album, "Camp Meeting," Aug. 7 via Legacy. Joined by renowned jazz musicians Christian McBride and Jack DeJohnette on bass and drums, respectively, Hornsby has recorded an 11-song mix of original compositions and covers of songs by John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Keith Jarrett and Bud Powell.

Additionally, the album will feature a previously unrecorded work by Ornette Coleman, "Questions and Answers." The trio plans to follow the release with a brief tour that will visit Northampton, Mass., on Aug. 10, the Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island the following day, Los Angeles on Aug. 22 and San Francisco on Aug. 23.

Former Soft Machine principal Robert Wyatt has inked with Domino for the Oct. 9 release of a new album, "Comicopera," his studio project since 2003. The 16-track "Comicopera" is divided into three distinct movements to mimic the deliberate pacing and construction of a three-act opera.

The self-produced set features guest turns by Brian Eno, Paul Weller and Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera, in whose studio some of the music was recorded.

Rapper Gucci Mane has signed a deal with Asylum/Atlantic Records for his new label, So Icey, and production company Czar Entertainment. The first album under the deal will be the third of the Atlanta-based MC's career and is slated for a summer release.

The as-yet-untitled set features Pimp C, Rich Boy and R&B group Silk. Nitty, Shorty Red, Butta and SupaSonics lend their production talents.

Born Radric Davis in Birmingham, Ala., Gucci Mane recorded his first song at the age of 14. His debut single, "Black Tee," earned local play in Atlanta, leading to a contract with Big Cat Records. His 2005 debut album, "Trap House," hit No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.
