G. Love is ready for his close-up with "A Year and a Night with G. Love and Special Sauce," an onstage and behind-the-scenes look at the band's life on the road. The CD/DVD set is due July 31 from Philadelphonic and Brushfire Records.

The DVD portion of "A Year and a Night" contains an hour-long documentary following the Philadelphia-based group during a 2006 tour of Europe, Japan and the United States, plus the tour finale concert and footage of 12 additional performances.

The CD contains 10 live tracks, condensed from a two-night hometown stand at the Electric Factory that includes crowd pleasers like the 1994 single "Cold Beverage" and "Steppin' Stones."

"A Year and a Night with G. Love and Special Sauce," the trio's first DVD release, includes guest appearances by Jack Johnson cohort Donavon Frankenreiter, soul-tinged Louisiana musician Marc Broussard and San Diego singer/songwriter Tristan Prettyman.
