New recordings featuring both Bruce Springsteen and folk legend Pete Seeger will appear on two separate albums this fall. First up is a new version of Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad" for "Sowing the Seeds: The 10th Anniversary," due Sept. 11 via Appleseed Recordings.
The two artists also recorded "Hobo's Lullaby" with Springsteen's Sessions Band for the compilation "Feels Like Home," due via Appleseed on Sept. 25. Proceeds from this album will benefit Give Us Your Poor, a non-profit homeless advocacy organization at the University of Massachussetts.
"Sowing the Seeds" is rounded out by a version of "Bring Them Home" featuring Seeger, Ani DiFranco, Steve Earle and Billy Bragg, as well as previously released songs from Jackson Browne, Joan Baez, Donovan and Ramblin' Jack Elliott.
"Feels Like Home" will sport additional contributions from Jon Bon Jovi, Natalie Merchant, Bonnie Raitt (covering "Walking the Dog" with blues artist Weepin' Willie Robinson) and Buffalo Tom, among others.
