Singer/songwriter/producer Sean "The Pen" Garrett will release his as-yet-untitled solo debut later this year via a deal with Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine's Bet I Penned It Music. Akon, Pharrell and Timbaland are among the big names confirmed to lend their production efforts.

"The album is a combination of love songs, true-to-life songs and great radio hits," Garrett tells Billboard.com. "I'm giving people something they can party to as well as songs that makes them think about something they are going through. It's going to be 11 or 12 songs people can completely relate to."

Garrett, who's written and produced for the likes of Beyonce, Nelly, Fergie, Gwen Stefani and R. Kelly, will be the first artist to release an album on Iovine's new label. "Sean Garrett is one of the greatest songwriters to come along in the last 10 years. Interscope will always jump to work with someone like him," Iovine says.

Aside from putting the finishing touches to his own project, Garrett is currently in the studio with Britney Spears, Usher, Chris Brown, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston and Mary J. Blige. He also guests with T.I. on "Whatever You Like," the first single from Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger upcoming solo debut.
