Updating a story posted earlier today (Oct. 17), Jacksonville, Fla.-based indie rock act Black Kids has signed with Quest Management but has not inked a deal with the company's affiliated Almost Gold Recordings.

The group, which has been the subject of significant blog buzz in recent weeks, will play a host of shows in New York this week as part of the CMJ Music Marathon. Black Kids' lone release, the four-song "Wizard of Ahhhs" demo EP, is available for download from its MySpace.com site.

Almost Gold is home to Swedish rock outfit Peter Bjorn and John, who broke through in the U.S. thanks to the single "Young Folks," and U.K. dance act Calvin Harris, among others.

Billboard.com understands Black Kids are in discussions with several labels but that no decision on a future home has yet been made.
