The show, which made its NBC debut this summer after five seasons on cable outlet USA Network, was hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus and featured judge/mentors Jewel, John Rich and songwriter Jeffrey Steele.

Lawson's debut single, "What If It All Goes Right," has been released to country radio via Warner Bros. Nashville.

The Nashville Star Live tour, produced by AEG Live, will commence Sept. 12 in St. Louis and continue throughout the fall.

Former "Nashville Star" finalists signed to Nashville labels include Miranda Lambert (Columbia Nashville) and Chris Young (RCA Nashville).
