Singer/songwriter Ingrid Michaelson will use her music to fight cancer via the Oct. 14 release of the album "Be OK." The collection of previously unreleased songs, covers and live recordings will be released on Michaelson's own Cabin 24 Records, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C), which raises money for research.
The album's title track and corresponding music video will be featured on standup2cancer.org. A Stand Up To Cancer TV special will air Sept. 5 on ABC, CBS and NBC, featuring several film and TV stars.
Michaelson also will headline a "Be OK" tour in late October, during which she will sell a "Be OK" necklace, with all proceeds going to SU2C.

Mary Chapin Carpenter has set a Sept. 30 release date for her first holiday album, "Come Darkness, Come Light." The Zoe/Rounder set features 12 tracks, including a host of originals co-written with producer John Jennings.
Among the traditional songs featured as "Hot Buttered Rum," "Still, Still, Still" and "Children, Go Where I Send Thee."
