THE DIRTY DETAILS
I'm an avid fan of Alice In Chains and grunge in general, so I was searching around for the sales of their "Dirt" album and surprisingly I couldn't find any information later than 2001, when the album sold 3.03 million copies.
I will be very grateful if you can post how many copies the album has sold since then according to Nielsen SoundScan. I'm especially interested since they have released two compilation albums in the last couple of years.
All told, Alice in Chains' "Dirt" has sold 3,358,000 in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album is by far the band's biggest selling set.
Its next biggest is "Jar of Flies," with 2.2 million sold in America.
"Dirt" debuted and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in 1992. It spent 102 weeks on the chart.
ANTICIPATION FOR HAMILTON
Could you please tell me when Anthony Hamilton's new album will be released?
I am a huge fan of his and I can't wait to hear from him again.
Anthony Hamilton's new album is slated for a December release, though an exact date has not been announced. The set's first single, "Cool," has already been sent out to radio stations across the U.S.
His last studio effort, "Ain't Nobody Worryin'," debuted and peaked at No.
19 on the Billboard 200 in 2005 and has sold 635,000 in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan.
FROM JAY TO Z
I was wondering if you could help me out with a breakdown of the total record sales of Jay-Z. I know he has 13 albums to his credit but I can't seem to find out how many records he has sold to date.
Thanks a million,
Jay-Z's 13 solo albums, plus his trio of collaboration sets with R. Kelly and Linkin Park, have sold a combined total of 28.9 million in the U.S.
Jay has notched 10 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, tying him with Elvis Presley as the solo artist with the most No. 1s. Overall, only the Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, have more chart-toppers.
