Girl-on-girl kissing. Grinding. No shirts. This year saw K-pop videos provoke more than ever.
Typically, K-pop skews more cute than raunchy, opting to tease rather than let it all hang out. But 2013 was K-pop's sexiest year by far. From camera angles highlighting the idol's best assets to choreography that made viewers weak at the knees, the scene upped its raciness while still maintaining its stars' dignity, unlike -- not to name names -- select stars of the West.
End your 2013 on a sizzling note with the year's 10 sexiest K-pop videos.
No, PSY didn't reveal a previously-unknown six-pack in his "Gentleman" video. It was his co-star, Ga In of girl group Brown Eyed Girls, who made this one of K-pop's sexiest videos. With outfits that hugged all the right curves, suggestive dinner manners and seeing her lead the subtle hip-swinging dance move (originally made famous in Brown Eyed Girls' "Abracadabra" video, a 2009 release that stands as one of South Korea's raciest), Ga In helped PSY's viral nature get a little risque in 2013.
2NE1, "Missing You"
Until the 2:20 mark, unaware viewers might scratch their heads at the inclusion of the K-pop phenom's winter ballad -- but then leader CL strips down to nothing to portray herself as both emotionally stripped for a bold, brave embrace of her sexuality. Eat your heart out, Miley.
The video spent three weeks on Billboard's YouTube chart.
Nine Muses, "Glue"
As a group consisting of models who can sing, Nine Muses' videos are always easy on the eyes. But for "Glue," the outfit upped the XXX-Factor with a video full of cleavage and bum shots, further enhanced by latex bodysuits and hip-swinging choreography. The tastefully-shot camera work and in-sync dancing scream sophistication rather than sleazy.
miss A, "Hush"
In "Hush," girl group miss A proves that simple can be sexy. In understated, body-hugging outfits, the quartet spotlights fit physiques with slinky choreography, splashing around a flooded living room and writhing around a pillaged storefront. Look out for a quick shower scene featuring member Min.
Seungri, "Let's Talk About Love"
It's not a proper music video, but BIGBANG member Seungri sent waves of excitement throughout the loins of K-pop fans with an R-rated teaser video announcing his "Let's Talk About Love" album. Provocative shots peppered the 22-second clip, including a man (presumably Seungri) touching a woman's inner leg and a shot of her pulling down her underwear. While the video to the album's lead single "Gotta Talk To U" was far less racy, this initial visual quickly caught fans' attention.
