Rapper Azealia Banks recently released the long awaited music video for her first single "Yung Rupunxel" from her fortchoming debut album “Broke With Expensive Taste.” Directed by Jam Sutton, the music video brings all of Azealia's dark and fantastically twisted fantasies to life.
Filled with visual symbolism including one-eyed motifs, owls and Illuminati imagery, the fairy tale nods to Aaliyah's iconic "Are You That Somebody." The video also highlights the singer’s nightmarish ‘90s-inspired style.
Check out our five favorite looks from the video below. No more Mickey Mouse sweaters and pigtails for this Harlem born rapper.
The Shaggy Bikini
Azealia got creepy chic in a furry black and green bikini top, baggy white nylon parachute pants and a pair of pink sunglasses on her head.
Banks sports an evocative clear plastic jacket, because let’s face it: you need some form of protection while dancing around in a scary bar. Under the protective garment the singer rocked a metallic blue bikini paired with white puffer pants.
Kickin' It Old School
Bank’s rocks ‘90s-infused threads while showing off her toned tummy in a cropped halter top and low-rise plaid pants.
Mind-controlling a set of owls, the singer sports a bandana under a pair of black goggles complete with a red colored eye and her very own owl flying out of her third eye.
The Urban Cowgirl
What does one wear while riding a mechanical bull in a terrifying video? A cream colored structured bra, DKNY for Opening Ceremony sweatpants, and a white curly fur shoulder shrug.
