SXSW's Bud Light Factory Lineup Stars The Roots, Bleachers, Big Boi, Santigold and More: Exclusive
More than 30 artists will perform during the four-day Bud Light Factory inside Austin’s Brazos Hall for South by Southwest from March 16 to 19. The beer brand exclusively shared the lineup with Billboard on Thursday, and the roster stars The Roots, Bleachers, Big Grams, Santigold, A$AP Ferg, Yo Gotti, Rae Sremmurd and MisterWives.
Notably, Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff, fresh off helping Taylor Swift win the Album of the Year Grammy last month for his contributions to 1989, will headline Friday night’s showcase. The Roots will close out the festivities Saturday night with a jam session featuring Big Boi and Phantogram of Big Grams as well as surprise guests.
At previous jam sessions during Grammy Awards weekend for the past decade, The Roots have brought out performers such as Chaka Kahn, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Nelly, Tori Kelly, Leon Bridges, Questlove, Sara Bareilles, Too Short, Estelle and Mos Def. Overall, the majority of the artists across all four days are relative newcomers or rising musicians.
“We’ve curated a lineup full of artists who take bold risks in music by breaking barriers and are charged with developing and evolving the music landscape,” Alexander Lambrecht, vice president of Bud Light, told Billboard. “SXSW is one of the most iconic stages for up-and-coming artists, and we as a brand, and leader in music, want to be a part of that history in the making.”
Bud Light, a first-time SXSW “Super Sponsor” that will debut newly designed cans and bottles to concert-goers, will have extra firepower from Bud Light Factory partners Stereogum, VIBE, Interscope Records and SPIN.
SXSW badge holders don’t need to RSVP for the nighttime showcases, they can just show up. People without badges can only attend the daytime showcases, but they have to RSVP here.
