Top 5 NFL Victory Dances
At this weekend's Ravens-49ers Super Bowl, we can expect Beyonce to show off some spirited dance moves during this halftime show, but even Bey can pick up a move or two from the players themselves. Although end zone touchdown dances now produce penalties, plenty of players will have cause to celebrate on Sunday.
In honor of the smooth moves we hope to see this weekend, Billboard.com presents five of the best NFL victory dances ever. While most of these dances are obviously not set to music, we're pairing them up with songs that may aid their recreation at your own Super Bowl bashes.
New York Jets' Braylon Edwards Does "The Dougie"
Perfect Song Pairing: Cali Swag District's "Teach Me How to Dougie"
Braylon Edwards of the New York Jets made sure to teach his Patriots defender how to "Dougie" after a touchdown in 2010. We're impressed by his "Dougie," especially the signature helmet wipe.
Baltimore Ravens' Kelley Washington Does "The Squirrel"
Perfect Song Pairing: Beyonce's "Single Ladies"
Kelley Washington of the Ravens made his mark on the end zone with the booty-shaking strut of "The Squirrel Dance." When Washington whipped out the moves during a 2009 game against the San Diego Chargers, one commentator joked, "I think would have pulled a hamstring!" Us, too.
New York Giants' Victor Cruz Does "The Salsa"
Perfect Song Pairing: Celia Cruz's "La Vida Es Un Carnaval"
Victor Cruz has established himself as a star receiver with his breathtaking speed, steady hands... and trademark touchdown dance. Watch the Giants WR shimmy around a bunch of dispirited Philadelphia Eagles in 2011.
San Francisco 49ers' Merton Hanks Does "The Chicken Dance"
Perfect Song Pairing: Lady Gaga & Beyonce's "Telephone"
Merton Hanks of the San Francisco 49ers had one of the most iconic and original touchdown celebration dances. The jerky, seizure-like "Chicken Dance" became Hanks' signature throughout his long and thoroughly stellar career.
Cincinnati Bengals' Chad Ochocinco Does "River Dance"
Perfect Song Pairing: Irish Folk song "The Jolly Beggarman"
The Bengals' Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson must have been feeling the luck of the Irish when he scored against the Chicago Bears. Ochocinco launched into an impromptu end zone River Dance.
