9:30 pm -- Daft Punk's set sits along Chick Hearn Court outside the Staples Center.
9:39 pm -- The Grammys ended at 8:45 pm and the Universal party at Ace Hotel a few blocks from Staples is already off and popping.
9:41 pm -- "Music Is Universal". The impossible-to-miss marquee outside Universal's party at the Ace Hotel Theater.
9:45 pm -- Just spotted Cash Money's Slim Williams being ushered into Universal's party.
9:50 pm -- At the entrance to the Universal party, guests are greeted with a placard. It's a request to sign a digital card to congratulate company chairman Lucian Grainge on receiving the presidential merit award at last night's pre-Grammy gala.
10:03 pm -- Billboard congratulates Motown senior VP and Universal Music Publishing urban chief Ethiopia Habtemariam on the label's gospel Grammy wins.
10:09 pm -- An official-looking chap with a walkie talkie clears a bank of couches reserved for a VIP. Who could it be?
10.15 pm -- Universal Music Publishing senior exec Monti Olson in conversation at the Universal party.
10:25 pm -- Interscope's head of urban Joie Manda stops by to say "hello."
10:40 pm -- Universal party: Blue Note Records president Don Was chatting on one side of the room, Marc Anthony on the other. Was' label is home to one of today's newly-crowned Grammy winners -- Gregory Porter.
10:45 pm -- Two of the night's gospel winners embrace and breathe a sigh of relief at the Ace Hotel Theater -- Tye Tribbet and Tasha Cobbs.
10:49 pm -- Blue Note's Don Was is the band leader for the CBS Beatles special that tapes Monday, and he's naturally concerned about playing bass behind "the King of the Bass," Paul McCartney. He tells Billboard he went back to the master tapes and broke down various parts that you may not notice in the final mix. A string section on "Something," for example, was a huge revelation for him as were all the sound effects on "Yellow Submarine."
10:55 pm -- Billboard's Gail Mitchell and double Grammy winner Tye Tribbett.
10:54 pm -- Apparently John Mayer is here. Well, that's the rumor doing the rounds of the Universal party. Haven't spotted him yet, but singer Keyshia Cole is here posing for pics with friends and her manager Manny Halley.
10:59 pm -- Universal: Grammy winner Lalah Hathaway is still over the moon about her Grammy win today. "Can you believe it?" she says.
11:05 pm -- DJ doing his thing with EDM and light show at the Universal party.
11:15 pm - At Red Light Management's party, and the company's head Coran Capshaw is being mobbed by people saying "hi." Capshaw says the show tonight was great, giving it "two thumbs up".
11:20 pm -- Victoria Justice just showed up at Red Light's party. She says she watched the Grammys from home while getting ready to head out. "I thought John Legend was wonderful."
11:25 pm -- Universal: The VIP area that was off-limits earlier is now pretty empty. Lucian Grainge -- the boss -- has apparently left.
11:30 pm -- Universal: Jeff Harleston, General Counsel, EVP Business & Legal Affairs for Universal, talking animatedly with a small group near the corner of the room.
11:35 pm -- Universal: Bump into producer Chucky Thompson, who says he's now relocated to L.A. from Washington, D.C.
11:40 pm -- Universal: Grammy winner Zedd and Anna Kendrick are in the house.

12:26 am -- Universal: Turns out Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine was here earlier. But not anymore. Others who've dropped in: Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Emeli Sande, Colbie Caillat.
12:30 am: At the Republic party. Executive VP Charlie Walk takes to the tables to rally for new signing Jetta, whose new EP just debuted high on the Heatseekers chart off the back of a highly visible iTunes promotion.
1:15 am -- Coran Capshaw is a total don at his party. He's parked in the corner all night holding court with fellow Red Light executives (Bruce Eskowitz, Phil Costello) and friends.
