U2 debuted another new song Saturday (Aug. 21) at the Helsinki show of the European leg of their 360 tour.
The slow tempo "Every Breaking Wave" was a surprise treat for Swedish fans. U2 frontman Bono crooned under a blue tinted light, "Like every breaking wave on the shore, this is as far as I can reach," while Dave "The Edge" Evans played behind him.
"No one's heard that before, including the two of us," said Bono after the acoustic set finished.
"Every Breaking Wave" is the fourth song the band has debuted on stage during their worldwide tour. The song, which Bono told Rolling Stone last year was meant for their "No Line on the Horizon" album, will be the lead single off their upcoming set "Songs of Ascent."
Bono has also said the band has four albums worth of unreleased material that could potentially be shared on the road, between "Songs," the "Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark" musical and their forthcoming "rock" and "club-sounding" records.
