Obama's Got Soul: President Sings Al Green's 'Let's Stay Together' at the Apollo

Obama & Al Green Tour? 'After Re-Election,' He Says

Last night at a campaign fundraiser at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, President Obama took the stage, crooning a line from Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" during his speech.

After noticing soul crooner Rev. Al Green in the audience, Obama started, "I… I'm so in love with you," showing that, while not quite up to Green's level, our President definitely has some chops, particularly in the falsetto range. Watch below.

"Those guys didn't think I would do it," joked Obama, gesturing to his aides on the side of the stage. "I told you I was going to do it. The Sandman did not come out."

He said to Green, "Don't worry Rev, I cannot sing like you. But I just wanted to show my appreciation," before continuing with his speech at the fundraiser.
