The trailer for her upcoming "Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D" trailer has begun airing on TV and surfaced online today (April 2) following the recent announcement that the concert film will premiere on Fourth of July weekend. "Go and see it and be a firework," Perry told E! News at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday, referencing the "Teenage Dream" hit single.

The teaser trailer begins with shots of Perry growing up: playing dress-up at age three, holding a religious sign as a teen, blonde and playing the guitar onstage. "The atmosphere I grew up in was 100 percent Christian. I started singing in church -- I never really had another plan," says Perry's voiceover, before the trailer kicks into a montage of the star's energetic, colorful live shows.
Directing the documentary are Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, both of whom served as producers on Justin Bieber's 2011 3D "Never Say Never," which grossed $73 million domestically. Negotiations for "Part Of Me 3D" were said to be in the early stages in February, with Paramount and Imagine Entertainment in talks to create the film.
