Johnny Depp Rocks With Marilyn Manson

Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson Johnny Depp dropped acting for a night and joined Marilyn Manson onstage Wednesday, grabbing a bright yellow guitar and black cowboy hat for a performance of "Sweet Dreams" at Revolver magazine's Golden Gods Awards concert.

Were his face not recognizable worldwide, the 48-year-old actor may not have even been noticed as he played along silently, hat tipped and eyes focused on the strings.

Until the song ended, that is, and Manson shouted to the crowd, "If you don't recognize my personal friend, personal savior, personal guitar hero… Johnny Depp." As the audience cheered for the pair -- at Manson's repeated request -- they kicked off a second song, "The Beautiful People."

The 43-year-old singer also brought out "Gossip Girl" alum and Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen for a song at the L.A. show.

Earlier this month, Depp and Manson collaborated on a cover of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain," to be featured on the rocker's upcoming eighth studio album, "Born Villain," due out May 1.
