Watch President Obama Slow-Jam The News with The Roots on 'Fallon'
When "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" headed to the University of North Carolina for special taping on Tuesday (Apr. 24), the show received a very special, powerful guest: President Barack Obama. Among other things, the President turned his stance on Stafford Student Loans into a sensual R&B cut on the late-night show's long-running segment "Slow-Jammin' the News."
As President Obama began discussing the troubling interest rates of Stafford Student Loans, house band the Roots gave him a slick beat and some heavy bass. Fallon chimed in by calling Obama "the Preezy of the United Steezy" and "the Barack-ness Monster," while Roots leader Black Thought rapped, "If the Congress doesn't act it's the students who pay/The right and left should get together like Kim and Kanye."
President Obama also used his first appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" to discuss basketball, YouTube clips and the current state of the White House with the NBC host. Check out part of the interview below.
