What a day Adam Levine is having in Maroon 5's "Payphone" video. First he has to singlehandedly take down some bank robbers, and then he gets mistaken for a bank robber and must battle a fleet of policemen! That's the premise of the group's new clip, which premiered Thursday (May 10), just in time for summer movie season.
Another typical day at the bank for Levine turns into chaos when some gunmen take charge, all while Maroon 5's poppy new single plays in the background. Levine and a beautiful woman escape unscathed (somehow), but when some cops mistake him for the gunmen, he must steal a convertible that belongs to none other than "Payphone" featured artist Wiz Khalifa. Cue the car chase, exploding things and the titular payphone used by a bleeding Levine to call for help/sing his heart out!
"Payphone" spends a third week at No. 3 on the Hot 100, behind Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" and fun.'s "We Are Young." The song previews Maroon 5's fourth studio album, "Overexposed," set for a June 26 release.
