Lil Wayne has released an album in which he sings "rock" songs ("Rebirth"). He has scored a Top 10 hit with a song that features no rapping ("How To Love"). So why can't Weezy sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" at a San Francisco Giants-St. Louis Cardinals playoff game? As we collectively struggle for answers, let's watch this clip of the Young Money rapper warbling through the American touchstone at Sunday night's National League Championship Series game:
Wearing an SF hat, shades, too-low shorts and a Giants jersey draped over a gray hoodie, Lil Wayne starts leading the San Francisco crowd in the tune, getting especially animated at the line "Let's root, root, root for the… GIANTS!" And of course, he punctuates the finale with an epic cry of "GO GIANTS!," before gleefully strolling off the field.
Afterward, Lil Wayne posted on Twitter about the experience:
Just sung "take me out to the ball game" @ the Giants game!!! A true life highlight! I thank San Fran for rokkin wit me!

Lil Wayne's fandom surely helped the Giants beat the Cardinals 6-1 last night, and pull even in the NLCS. If the Giants make the World Series, perhaps Weezy's YMCMB buddy Drake will deliver an overly emotional rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame"? One can certainly dream.
