"Unbelievers" will presumably be part of the group's forthcoming third LP.
Vampire Weekend stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday night (Oct. 31) during the late-night show's "Brooklyn" week, and performed a new track, "Unbelievers," while sporting Halloween-appropriate skeleton costumes and makeup.
With an image of the Brooklyn Bridge posted behind them, the New York natives tore through the new track while their faces were encased in black and white smears. Vampire Weekend has previously performed "Unbeliever" at select shows this year, and with its clipped percussion and slick melodies, the track sounds like a rollicking cousin to "Campus," from the band's self-titled debut.
Vampire Weekend has spent most of 2012 away from the stage and working on the follow-up to their 2010 sophomore effort, "Contra." After not playing a show in months, the quartet headlined the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago last July and frontman Ezra Koenig told the crowd, "After this show, we're gonna go back and finish our next album."
