Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt kept us laughing on TV's "3rd Rock From the Sun" and more recently, kept us rooting for the good guy in "500 Days of Summer." But right now, he's interested in rocking us -- specifically, with a stellar Nirvana cover (seriously, he can sing). Watch below, as the indie film heartthrob goes to town in Seattle on "Lithium."
In the city of grunge for an event last night (Aug. 23, at the Neptune Theater) for his hitRECord project, Gordon-Levitt told the crowd that he was interested in playing "not for the record -- just for tonight." "Seems like every time people bring up Nirvana, people want to talk about how Mr. Cobain killed himself," the actor announced mid-song. "I gotta say, it doesn't matter to me. It doesnt matter that he's dead, it doesn't matter how he died. His songs are f*cking awesome, that's what matters."
Somebody get this man in a music biopic, STAT. And viva la '90s, everybody.
