On a day when memorials were in no short supply, Paul Simon gave perhaps one of the most touching odes to the tenth anniversary of Sept. 11th. The "Simon & Garfunkel" balladeer touchingly performed "Sound of Silence" at the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero yesterday morning.
He starts off real slow with his acoustic picking, looking as if tears are about to well his eyes. In fact I think they were -- but clearly this man is made of stone if he's able to keep his legendary voice unwavering. Watch below.
As some may remember, Paul Simon was the first musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" in 2001, just a few weeks following the attacks on 9/11. His performance of "The Boxer" was alongside NYPD, firefighters and Mayor Giuliani himself.
