Roger Waters & Foo Fighters Rock Floyd on 'Fallon,' Jimmy & Joseph Gordon-Levitt Go Gaga
The Foo Fighters took the stage yesterday (Sept. 27) on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," where stage banter from lippy frontman Dave Grohl was replaced with awe. The rockers performed alongside Pink Floyd's Roger Waters during the second day of Pink Floyd Week on "Fallon," serving as Waters' backing band on "In The Flesh," off '79 classic "The Wall." Watch above.
In his sit-down with Fallon, Waters revealed that his seemingly never-ending "The Wall" Live tour will make a return to the states. Additionally, Waters gave props to The Shins, who covered "Breathe" (off "Dark side of the Moon") to kickoff Pink Floyd Week on the late night show Monday (Sept. 26). Watch below.
Besides a general appreciation for the UK rock icons, the occasion for Fallon's Pink Floyd Week stems from the massive Floyd box sets and reissues coming, starting with a hefty "Dark Side of the Moon" set out this week. MGMT are set to play "Lucifer Sam" (off "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn") on "Late Night" tonight.
Last night's "Fallon" featured another notable musical matchup: host Jimmy Fallon and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt doing karaoke renditions of "The Edge of Glory," "Since U Been Gone" and "Pumped Up Kicks," as David Bowie and Axl Rose, respectively. Kudos, gentlemen. Watch below.
