Uncharted Territory: The Knocks Return, Pomplamoose Drop New Video

It's been a while since we last heard from New York electro poppers The Knocks (July 7, to be exact), but this week they storm back onto the Uncharted with a vengeance, re-entering at No. 23. The band saw their SoundCloud numbers jump drastically after they posted a brand new song, "Brightside," on October 10, which alone has garnered over 30,300 plays; as a whole, the band's SoundCloud plays jumped from just over 2,500 last week to over 29,000 in the past seven days. Granted, we've seen this kind of thing before, but The Knocks have been hitting the Interwebs pretty hard as they prep their upcoming EP "Magic."

Old Uncharted friends Pomplamoose are also back, jumping from No. 41 to No. 24 on the strength of their new-you guessed it!-YouTube video. The band posted their new song, "Bust Your Knee Caps," on October 11, and it's already amassed over 171,000 plays. Pomplamoose also saw a bump in their Last.fm plays this week, notching over 9,000. But it's not just the new track that's helping out the indie duo-they're currently finishing up a West Coast Tour that includes several sold out dates. Don't expect these two to go anywhere soon.

A few weeks back we highlighted the funk-tastic track, "Don't Fuck With My Money" by NYC-based producer Penguin Prison. This week Penguin Prison has also returned, re-entering at No. 25-and for good reason. Not only did his self-titled record drop, but he also released a remix of "Blue Jeans," a song by the much-hyped Lana Del Rey. All this gave Penguin Prison a massive push in his SoundCloud numbers, which reached just over 23,000 and Last.fm plays, which pushed just over 7,000.

Making his Uncharted debut, is Canadian dubstepper, Datsik, who finds himself at No. 48 this week. The DJ has been pulling steady numbers for a while now, but as he preps his new self-titled records those play counts have started to jump. This week he notched over 13,000 Last.fm plays and nearly 11,000 on SoundCloud. With dubstep starting to dominate the electro scene, don't be surprised if we see more of Datsik in the coming weeks.

Finally, also making his Uncharted debut is electronic artist Kraddy, also known as Matthew Kratza, a founding member of the Glitch Mob. Kraddy dropped his newest record, "Anthems of the Hero" on October 10, also putting it to stream on SoundCloud. Since then, the set has been streamed more than 28,000 times, while this week his Last.fm plays peaked at over 6,000-plenty to place Kraddy squarely at No. 26.
