The Year in Arrests: 2010
Yo Gotti (Memphis, Dec. 13): The rapper (real name: Mario Mims) turned himself into police after being charged with aggravated riot following a November shooting in the parking lot of a Memphis nightclub. Yo Gotti's attorney has said that Mims hopes to be cleared of the charges.

An arrest warrant for rapper Yo Gotti has been issued in connection to a Thanksgiving weekend shooting in Memphis, Tennessee, in which six people were shot and injured.

According to allhiphop.com, Yo Gotti and friend/rapper OG Boo Dirty were involved in a verbal altercation on Nov. 29 which resulted in a shoot out. Among the six people wounded, one was an off-duty security guard.

Yo Gotti has not surrended to police because he is traveling on business, but the "Five Star Chick" rapper's lawyer, Art Horne, released the following statement:

"He just wanted his fans and the public to know that...he doesn't condone that type of behavior, and that again, he plans to deal with the charges that have been filed against him. Once he comes back and deals with the allegations, I think his name will be cleared."

Eleven warrants in connection to the unfortunate event have been issued so far. Three of the men allegedly involved are already in custody on charges of aggravated riot.
