After taking over the Billboard charts with the release of his new album To Pimp a Butterfly, and then doing the same to Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles last week performing live through the city on the back of a moving truck, Kendrick Lamar dominated New York's Times Square and LA Live in Los Angeles on Wednesday with the release of his new video for "King Kunta."

The Compton rapper blasted the video over jumbotrons at both city center locations, with fans gathering around to watch the world premiere.  

In the new X-directed video, Lamar performs around his hometown, even on top of the Compton Swap Meet. He's showing off his crew and his C-walking, rocking a Dodgers hat, Patriots jacket and white Reebok sneakers -- surely a gift from his partnership with the brand

In 2012, Lamar told Complex that this location holds a special place in his heart. He said, "I've been going to the swap meet my whole life. As a kid, that's where I used to get all my cassettes, all my CDs. My pops, too—he'd buy music. I'd get my Nikes there. You might see Suge Knight, other folks from Compton."
