Drake's Street Fighter-styled tour with Lil Wayne prevented him from accepting his VMA for Best Hip-Hop Video of the Year in person on Sunday night, but don't think for a minute that Drizzy would forgo an acceptance speech.

During the duo's Boston concert, Drake gave a half-serious, half-jokey acceptance speech for nabbing a Moonman thanks to his "Hold On, We're Going Home" video.

After thanking God, his mother and Lil Wayne, Drake commented on the oddity of winning Best Hip-Hop Video for an R&B song. "I know this is a hip-hop award and a lot of you out there are frustrated, like, 'This is not a hip-hop song.' And you know what? You're right -- I tricked you all," Drake laughed. "Rappers, better luck next year. Thank you."
