The duo has signed with Mass Appeal Records.
Run the Jewels are officially Mass Appeal Records' newest signee.
The duo, consisting of El-P and Killer Mike, will release their sophomore album RTJ2 -- their first album under the independent label newly launched by Nas -- on Oct. 28. Their full-length effort will feature Rage Against The Machine's Zack De La Rocha and Blink-182's Travis Barker.
RTJ accompanied the long-awaited album drop date and signing reveal with the release of their hard hitting first single, "Blockbuster Night Part 1." Anticipation has been growing since they teased the song in July.
Killer Mike recently scribed an opinion piece for Billboard on what's occurring in Ferguson, Mo., after the killing of unarmed, 18-year old Michael Brown. "Support these victims. On the day they were murdered by rogue officers, all of our rights drained onto that hot concrete along with that child's blood. Government should fear the people, not the other way around. Salutes and love to all, from a fellow American," he says.
