Walid Azami

A year after the release of "DoubleBack: Evolution of R&B," Joe returns with "Bridges."

His 11th studio album has garnered attention with the success of its lead single, "Love & Sex Pt. 2," featuring Kelly Rowland.

Below, check out an exclusive premiere of "Bridges" before its debut on June 23.

"We build them, cross them, burn them, then soon realize how much we need them. Relationships are bridges and at some point we must take responsibility for where we have allowed those relationships to take us," Joe says of the album title. "Most important, what relationships or bridges are we currently building, crossing into or burning?"

For "Bridges," Joe pulled inspiration from some R&B legends. "This project says to core R&B fans that I'm here and I’m giving you music that represents everything that I'm doing. I went back and took some courses in old school, studying Marvin Gaye and Earth Wind & Fire and The Commodores — even New Edition. It's all live musicians and I play on this album. I'm just trying to give people what we fell in love with."
