50 Cent debuts atop Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with his first album in five years, "Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire To Win," which opens with 47,000 copies sold in the week ending June 8, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The entrance marks the rapper's fifth No. 1 on the chart and first since his last album, "Before I Self-Destruct," reached the apex in 2009 (with 160,000 first-week units). The new set's Dr. Dre-produced "Smoke" (featuring Trey Songz) re-enters Rap Digital Songs at No. 39 with a 92 percent increase to 6,000 downloads sold.
Speaking of Songz: He scores the highest debut on Hot R&B Songs, coming in at No. 18 with "SmartPhones" (5,000 downloads sold, a 44 percent rise). On Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop, the track bounds 32-21, climbing by 27 percent plays, according to Nielsen BDS. Songz also debuts "What's Best for You" at No. 25 on Adult R&B following its first week at radio. Both songs are set to appear on his sixth studio album "Trigga," due July 1.
Minaj' 'Pills' Pops: Nicki Minaj captures her 17th top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, as "Pills N Potions" pops 11-10. The climb extends her record for the most top 10s by a female rapper; Missy Elliott is second with 12. "Pills N Potions" pushes 21-19 on Rap Streaming Songs with a 16 percent gain to 1.8 million streams. Views from the official lyric videos on Minaj's Vevo on YouTube channel account for 62 percent of overall streams. Streams from the song's official music video released on June 9 will impact next issue's charts.
Big Smo's Big Debut: Self-proclaimed "hick-hop" artist Big Smo (real name: John Smith) makes his first appearance on Rap Albums, as "Kuntry Livin'" opens at No. 3. The Tennessee rapper sold 9,000 copies of the country/rap fusion set in its opening week. Big Smo is the focus of his eponymous A&E reality series, which debuted June 11.
Matisyahu Makes Rap Return: Also on Rap Albums, Matisyahu arrives at No. 4 with "Akeda" (8,000). The entry marks his first time on the chart in eight years, since 2006's "Youth" opened at No. 3 (with 11,000). Matisyahu steers somewhat from his signature reggae musicality for most of the new album, opting for a broader mix of hip-hop and electronic sounds, with some exceptions. Collaborations on "Akeda" include tunes with hip-hop duo Zion I and Bermuda-raised rapper Collie Buddz.
Kelly Price's Sixth Top 10 Album: On R&B Albums, singer-songwriter Kelly Price debuts at No. 6 with "Sing/Pray/Love/Vol. 1: Sing." The set moved 5,000 units in its first week, enough to also enter Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums at No. 10, marking her sixth trip to the top 10.

It's the group's second entry on the list, following "Versace," which reached No. 31 last year. Migos concurrently arrives No. 17 on Rap Albums with "No Label ll," which bows with 2,000 sold.
Khalifa's 'Boyz' Hits Top 10: Scoring his eighth top 10 on Hot Rap Songs, Wiz Khalifa’s "We Dem Boyz" shoots 12-9 in its 10th week. The rapper last appeared in the top 10 as a featured artist on Mike Will Made-It’s "23," peaking at No. 2 in October 2012. Khalifa's last top 10 trip as a lead artist came in 2012 when "Work Hard, Play Hard" reached No. 3. Khalifa recently previewed a snippet of an upcoming "Dem Boyz" remix featuring Nas. There's no word yet on release plans for the additional version.
