Beyonce's Memorial Day Playlist Is Full of Classic Summer Soul
Now, don't ever say the Queen Bey never did anything for you
There's a crazed thirst that befalls this country on Memorial Day weekend. It's a thirst that can only be quenched by sunlight, grilled food items, and music -- not just any music, but the kind that can't help but bellow the announcement: summer is finally here. Beyoncé knows this, which is why the singer has shared a playlist on her website full of classic summertime soul cuts from the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Aaliyah and more.
Also notable on the list include "Losing You," a cut by her sister Solange -- a little over a week after the pair and Jay-Z issued a statement saying they had officially put to bed their recent skirmish in an elevator following the Met Gala—and one by Too $hort, whose beats Beyoncé lauded late last year in a video discussing her song "Partition."
The post only provided YouTube links to the songs on the playlist, so feel free to compile and expand your own version to blast at whatever party you may be throwing -- and don't forget to add some Beyoncé cuts in there, too.
